IBC Life Sciences Adds Synthetic Biology Programming to the 2011 Next Generation Protein Therapeutics Summit

WESTBOROUGH, MA--(Marketwire - February 24, 2011) - IBC Life Sciences announces that the Next Generation Protein Therapeutics Summit full conference agenda is now available. The event will take place at the Hyatt in San Francisco, CA on June 20-22, 2011. This year the conference has expanded to include five conference themes:

Beyond Antibodies highlights emerging scaffolds, non-antibody proteins, antibody-like molecules and fragments and novel biologic platforms to guide next generation protein developments. It will introduce preclinical and clinical data attendees can use to benchmark against their own results.

Conference theme, Protein Engineering & Design, offers strategies to improve drug-like and biophysical properties of molecules and help attendees make better protein drugs to get an edge over competition.

Delivery of Protein Therapeutics focuses on recognizing the formidable challenges and biological barriers of protein and peptide delivery and exploring alternative delivery routes.

Immunogenicity of Biologics offers attendees insights into technologies and strategies for de-immunization and risk-mitigation through case studies on inflammation, cancer and antibodies.

With the addition of a new theme, Synthetic Biology, which highlights efforts to engineer proteins and peptides using non-natural amino acids, this conference now helps attendees take the next step to bridge the gap between chemistry, biology and engineering to design new biologics not found in nature.

"Building off the phenomenal feedback and growth from the 2010 event, we have expanded this year's program to include additional topics that will allow attendees to cross-fertilize ideas from different disciplines to help them turn promising molecules into the next-generation of products. The 2011 event will feature exciting, new and unpublished data from luminary academic and industry researchers who are driving the advances in this exciting field," said Michael Keenan, Project Manager and Producer at IBC Life Sciences.

The programming allows attendees and speakers to share ideas, strategies lessons learned with scientists from across the protein therapeutics field to inspire new ideas and creative solutions to some of the challenges faced when turning new molecules into products. Access to all content on a particular day will be available to those registered.
