Harvard School of Public Health Faculty and Experts in Industry Explore Strategies for Integrating Wellness and Occupational Safety and Health in the Workplace

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - June 11, 2012) -

Harvard School of Public Health recently released information on a new workplace health and safety continuing education program, Work, Health, and Wellbeing: Strategic Solutions for Integrating Wellness and Occupational Safety and Health in the Workplace.

Despite the recent recognition of the potential of integrated workplace health protection and promotion to reduce employee-related costs, few companies are implementing effective integrated worker health programs. This unique program is designed to provide participants with the skills necessary to evaluate the effectiveness of workplace health strategies, translate this evidence into practice, and implement strategies to design occupational health and safety programs. Work, Health, and Wellbeing is presented by Harvard School of Public Health faculty as well as leaders in the field who are implementing integrated health and safety programs in a range of worksite settings.

Participants in the program, which will include professionals engaged in workplace health promotion, occupational health and safety, human resources, and related fields will find this applied program provides participants with the skills needed to:

  • Evaluate worksite and worker health risks
  • Translate workplace wellness research into practice
  • Measure outcomes and evaluate occupational health and safety programs, and
  • Assess the financial impact of workplace health programs

Work, Health, and Wellbeing takes place September 17 - 20, 2012 in Boston at the Harvard School of Public Health. The Harvard School of Public Health Center for Continuing Professional Education designates this educational activity for a maximum of 29 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) ™.
