28 January 2014 – Pioneers, thought-leaders and opinion-formers from across the globe, including UN and European bio-industry climate change experts, are set to create a vibrant agenda at the 9th annual World Bio Markets event In Amsterdam, 4-6th March 2014.

The agenda includes keynotes on climate change, long-term global growth of the global bio-economy and the intricacies of bio-based fuel policy and trade.

As the bio-based industry takes its first steps into commercialisation, Dr. Rajendra Pachauri, Chairperson at the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will explore potential long-term industry forecasts. During Dr. Pachauri’s tenure, a Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the IPCC recognising their outstanding work in the field of man-made climate change education. Dr Pachauri shares his broader perspective with the aim of generating new forward-thinking strategies.

The discussion will continue to develop as a panel of bio-industry leaders debate and analyse strategies for the continued, long-term growth of the global bio-economy. Providing their insight will be Marcel Wubbolts, Chairman of the Board for the Biobased Industries Consortium, Guido Ghisolfi, CEO and Chairman of Beta Renewables, Anton Robek, President of Bio-based Products at DSM, Dr. Michael Duetsch, Director Biochemicals for UPM Biofuels, and Jouko Karvinen, the CEO of Stora Enso.

“The line-up for our 2014 keynotes is our most diverse ever,” said Nadim Chaundry, Global Bio Markets Series Founder. “The 9th annual World Bio Markets is set to bring together key experts in global bio-initiatives and those who implement them within their industries. We are certain that anyone with great interest and passion for the bio-industry will be enriched by this year’s wide selection of speakers.”

Taking the stage to discuss the global intricacies of bio-based fuel policy and trade there will be three bio-ambassadors: Rob Vierhout, President Europe’s renewable ethanol industry association, ePure; James C. Greenwood, President and Chief Executive Officer of BIO, the world's largest biotechnology organisation; and Gerald Ostheimer, Biofuels Lead for the UN’s pioneering new initiative Sustainable Energy For All.

Dr Manfred Schuckert, Head of Global Regulatory Strategy for Commercial Vehicles at Daimler, is providing the perspective of those with a vested interest in the future of bio industries, and will be highlighting the need for transparent communication between the pioneers writing the policies and mandates, and also the innovators creating the necessary products and technologies that fuel the industry.
