GlaxoSmithKline to Shed 130 Jobs at Two Irish Plants

Workers at the GlaxoSmithKline plant in Dungarvan, Co Waterford have been told that 130 jobs are to be lost. The announcement comes are workers were told to attend a meeting with management on Thursday afternoon. The firm, which has been in Dungarvan for almost 30 years, is the town’s largest employer with over 700 people employed. Earlier this year, GlaxoSmithKline announced it was divesting a number of its brands, including Solpadeine, which is manufactured at the plant.
