Gilead Sciences (Foster City, CA) And The Institute Of Organic Chemistry And Biochemistry Establish New Academic Research Centre In Prague

FOSTER CITY, Calif. & PRAGUE, Czech Republic--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 13, 2006--Gilead Sciences, Inc. (Nasdaq:GILD - News) today announced a donation to The Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (IOCB) for the establishment of a Gilead Sciences Research Centre. Gilead will provide a $1.1 million annual donation to IOCB for an initial five-year term to fund the Centre's operations and ongoing research activities.
