Gene Codes Releases Sequencher 5.3

ANN ARBOR, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gene Codes Corporation announces the release of Sequencher 5.3, DNA Sequence and Analysis Software. The latest release of Sequencher highlights Gene Codes’ goal of providing researchers with powerful, easy to use DNA analysis software tools. Sequencher 5.3 adds RNA-Seq analysis to its long list of DNA sequence analysis features, as well as improvements to Sequencher Connections, its newest architecture for DNA sequence analysis.

The most notable new addition to Sequencher 5.3 incorporates the Cufflinks algorithm suite for RNA-Seq analysis. This adds to Sequencher’s lineup of NGS plugins that includes GSNAP, BWA, and MAQ for reference-guided alignment and Velvet for de novo DNA assembly. Sequencher 5.3 also features visualization tools for differential expression analysis. Users can view Volcano plots, Bar charts, and Scatter plots that are linked to their underlying data. “As with the other NGS tools we feature, Cufflinks is wrapped in Sequencher’s easy-to-use GUI, making the normally challenging command-line process easy,” said Howard Cash, CEO at Gene Codes.
