GEA Release: Welcome To The Next Generation Of Tableting Technology

Taking the concept of infinite possibilities one step further, GEA has, today at ACHEMA, announced the global launch of the MODULTM Q rotary tablet press. “For more than a hundred years, our innovation, driven by our passion for excellence, has pioneered tablet compression technology, allowing pharmaceutical and industrial companies to prosper, produce extraordinary products and change people’s lives,” said Johan Van Evelghem, Sales Director, Pharma Compression.

“Innovation brings challenges, but it’s a challenge we welcome,” he added. “We’re constantly looking to overcome hurdles with new technology and present new, unique solutions to the pharmaceutical industry. At ACHEMA this year, we’ve done exactly that. We’ve taken the concept of infinite possibilities tothe next level.”

Like its predecessors, the MODULTM Q features GEA’s Exchangeable Compression Module (ECM). The next generation version of the ECM is even more convenient to use and offers a higher level of containment performance. With easier access for cleaning and set-up operations and improved functionality, the MODULTM Q also incorporates the Exchangeable Die Disc, which was only previously available on the PERFORMATM P press.

Operationally, the MODULTM Q has a bigger pitch diameter and will be positioned, in terms of productivity and output, between the MODULTM P and MODULTM S. In addition, the use of A tooling is now possible, which allows 51 punch stations to be incorporated and an output of more than 367,000 tablets per hour to be achieved.

Further, the MODULTM Q benefits from the new Multi Control 5 control system and, last but not least, a more attractive housing. It doesn’t just provide high quality performance and enhanced productivity; it also looks good too!

An innovative development in tableting technology, Johan concluded: “This is a significant breakthrough in tablet compression. The MODULTM Q has become the crown jewel in GEA’s range of tablet presses as it combines the very best of all our technologies, and beyond, in a single machine.”

The MODULTM Q will be on display on Stand F46 (Hall 4) throughout ACHEMA and experts will be available on-site to provide further information. Come and see what the future of tablet compression looks like.
