A former FDA compliance officer testifies in a trial against Johnson & Johnson subsidiary DePuy Orthopaedics that the companies followed federal rules for monitoring its now recalled metal-on-metal hip implants. A former FDA official told jurors this week that Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) subsidiary DePuy Orthopaedics followed proper federal guidelines in monitoring its now-recalled metal-on-metal hip implants. Forder Center for Devices & Radiological Health compliance officer Timothy Ulatowski testified in a patient injury lawsuit against DePuy and its ASR XL implants that the company followed required guidelines for monitoring its hip implants once they hit the market, and that the safety evaluations were "very thorough," Law 360.com reported.
