Former RiceTec Exec To Be New ViaGen, Inc. President

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 6, 2005--ViaGen, a leading livestock genomics innovator, today announced that Mark Walton, former RiceTec Executive Vice President, would take the helm of the company.
Dr. Walton is a successful applied research scientist with first-hand knowledge of the advantages gained through biotechnology; he brings over twenty-six years of experience in the plant, livestock and companion animal markets. At RiceTec, Walton led the research program which developed and released the first rice hybrids in North America. Before that, he led Linkage Genetics, the largest agricultural DNA service company in North America and Europe.
