Focused Ultrasound Surgery Foundation: Abstract Submissions and Registration Now Open for 2nd International Symposium on MR-Guided Focused Ultrasound

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., May 28 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Focused Ultrasound Surgery Foundation has announced that abstract submissions and registration are now open for the 2nd International Symposium on MR-guided Focused Ultrasound and can be accessed online at www.fusfoundation.org/symposium.

Scheduled for October 17-20, 2010 at the Westfields Marriott near Dulles International Airport, Washington, DC, the symposium will be a premier event for scientists, clinicians and others interested in current and future applications of MR-guided focused ultrasound. The program will offer a multifaceted exploration of this emerging field and feature plenary sessions, panel discussions, poster presentations and technical exhibits.

Abstract submissions

The Foundation welcomes abstracts related to preclinical, translational or clinical research that involves the use of MR-guided focused ultrasound. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, emerging treatments for the brain, prostate, breast, liver and uterus and for bone tumors, back and neck pain and targeted drug delivery.

Abstract submissions will be accepted through August 16, 2010 and must be entered online.

Abstracts covering late breaking research will be accepted from September 1 through 15, but will not be listed in the symposium program.

Symposium registration

Symposium registration fees will include meeting materials, breakfast and lunch.

Prior to August 1, the registration fee will be $350. Physicians and scientists in training will receive a $100 discount. On August 1, the registration fee will increase to $450. The discounted fee for trainees will be $300.
