FDA's Cancer Leader Sends The Wrong Message On Immuno-Oncology Drug Research

There is no doubt that Dr. Richard Pazdur, Director of the FDA’s Office of Oncology and Hematological Products and known as the Agency’s “oncology drug czar,” is a champion of accelerating new cancer drugs through the regulatory approval process. His efforts have garnered praise and admiration from many, including Ellen Sigal, the chairwoman of the Friends of Cancer Research, who correctly called Dr. Pazdur “the most important person in the cancer world.” When he speaks, it behooves all involved in oncology drug R&D to listen.
