Explora BioLabs Opens Fifth Preclinical Pharmacology Facility
SAN DIEGO, CA — Explora BioLabs, a leading West Coast preclinical contract research organization (CRO), announces the opening of its newly-built 5,000 square foot in vivo pharmacology facility in the University Town Center (UTC) life sciences cluster of San Diego.
This facility, within the Genesis Campus Point life sciences complex, will provide state-of-the-art housing for rodents used in critical preclinical studies, well-equipped rooms for performing pharmacology procedures, and full-service husbandry.
“The UTC-Campus Point area is an up-and-coming, innovative life sciences community. Our newest ‘OnDemand’ facility was designed to conveniently serve the needs of researchers in this area,” said Richard Lin, PhD, CEO and Founder of Explora BioLabs. “This new vivarium offers full-service rodent housing rooms of various sizes, which will provide flexibility and cost savings to small companies as they expand their preclinical pharmacology programs.”
With the opening of its Campus Point facility, Explora now operates over 45,000 square feet of OnDemand vivarium space in San Diego, including facilities on Torrey Pines Mesa, in Mission Bay, and at its headquarters in Sorrento Valley. An 18,000 square foot vivarium, projected to open in Q2 2017, is also under construction in South San Francisco.
