Executive Changes Signal New Energy And Direction For Community of Science (COS)

BALTIMORE, April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- The Board of Directors of Community of Science, Inc. (COS) recently named Jeff Baer as President and Chief Executive Officer, ushering in a new era of customer-driven product development and focus for this provider of information products to the scientific and academic research communities.

Baer, a longtime member of the COS senior management team, has committed to focusing the company on enhancing and developing its core products, COS Expertise and COS Funding Opportunities, to continue to meet the evolving needs of its customers.

He has a deep knowledge of this company and its services, and a vision that will position COS products as standard tools for researchers and scholars around the globe," said Alfred R. Along with Baer's appointment, Lisa Robey was named Senior Vice President, and Cathy Kilmon joined COS as Director of Marketing. David Waldo, Vice President of System Architecture and Technical Operations, also assumed responsibility for Software Development.

Before being tapped as CEO, Baer served COS as Director of Federal Services. Since joining COS in 1997, Baer has held responsibilities in several areas, including product management, project management, sales and marketing. He has also worked with several of the company's customer segments, including university, professional society, corporate, non-profit and government clients.

Before joining COS, Baer taught Thermodynamics and Engineering design at Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore. Baer holds a BSE in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University.
