Europe Matches Asian Giants In Per Capita Air Pollution Deaths

Heavily polluted air caused over 5.5 million premature deaths around the world in 2013, according to findings revealed at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in Washington D.C. in February. The world’s two most populous countries, China (1.6 million deaths) and India (1.4 million deaths), accounted for more than half of global air pollution deaths in 2013.
