Etzard Stolte of Hewlett-Packard Joins The Jackson Laboratory as Chief Information Officer

April 18, 2013 -- Bar Harbor, Maine—Etzard Stolte, Ph.D., the chief technology officer of Hewlett-Packard International’s Life Sciences, has accepted the position of chief information officer at The Jackson Laboratory.

Stolte has held top IT positions at pharmaceutical giant F. Hoffmann-La Roche and multinational consumer goods company Unilever, and has experience in academic and applied informatics research. Etzard earned his Ph.D. in computer science in 2003 from ETH, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, after obtaining a master’s degree in bioinformatics from Bielefeld University in Germany.

The Jackson Laboratory is an independent, nonprofit biomedical research institution based in Bar Harbor, Maine, with a facility in Sacramento, Calif., and a new genomic medicine institute in Farmington, Conn. It employs a total staff of more than 1,500. Its mission is to discover precise genomic solutions for disease and empower the global biomedical community in the shared quest to improve human health.
