Epilepsy Drug May Improve Appearance Of Scars

A drug used to treat epilepsy may have the unexpected side effect of improving the appearance of scars, a small study shows. New research shows that the drug Topamax, which is currently FDA approved for use as an antiseizure medication for people with epilepsy, helped lessen the discoloration and improve the cosmetic appearance of scars.
