Energizer Holdings Inc. has made a play for more of the feminine hygiene market. On Wednesday, Energizer officials announced a deal to purchase the Stayfree pad, Carefree liner and o.b. tampon brands in the U.S., Canada and Caribbean from McNeil PPC Inc. and Johnson & Johnson Inc. for $185 million in cash. The sale includes all brand assets and Johnson & Johnson’s manufacturing plant in Montreal.
