EDA Awards Seattle Biomedical Research Institute $1.25 Million Scientific Equipment Grant; Specialized Scientific Equipment Completes SBRI's New South Lake Union Research Facility

In a ceremony held at 12:30 p.m. today, Seattle Biomedical Research Institute (SBRI) received a $1.25 million grant from officials of the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA). The grant will stimulate job growth and leverage private support of the non-profit organization. It will be used to acquire and install scientific equipment needed to outfit SBRI's new research facility in the South Lake Union neighborhood with the necessary infrastructure to push its vaccines-related research downstream into potential commercial applications.
