Eagle Genomics Expands Operations

Expansion follows launch of eaglecore, company’s first product

Cambridge, UK – 10 November 2014 -- Eagle Genomics, a bioinformatics software and services company propelling new opportunities in large scale omics data and its application to real world problems in health and wellness, food and environmental sectors, is expanding its operations with a move to new offices and an increase in staff numbers of 25 percent.

The expansion has seen Eagle move to new offices on the Babraham Campus in Cambridge, and hire four new staff, bringing the total employed by Eagle to 21. The new hires include developers for Eagle’s recently launched product, eaglecore, and to support its consultancy arm, as well as new sales and marketing staff to support the launch of eaglecore.

The expansion in staff follows significant progress for Eagle this year, which saw the launch of eaglecore, a bioinformatics software platform, and continued expansion in Eagle’s consultancy business. eaglecore is a bioinformatics platform which provides significant benefits. It allows the user to better identify and locate their own scientific data, share it with colleagues and speed up their analysis. Through this improved analysis, it gives researchers new insights, which in turn, could lead to new scientific discoveries.

Dr Abel Ureta-Vidal, CEO of Eagle said: “2014 has been a transformational year for Eagle, with the business going from strength to strength. The launch of eaglecore has significantly improved our bioinformatics offering and we are seeing significant interest in the product. At the same time, our consultancy business continues to expand with new clients added to our portfolio. This expansion will ensure Eagle is well placed to meet a growing demand for our products and services.”
