Draper Laboratory, Inc. Building Biosurveillance System, May Spin Out Company

Nonprofit Draper Laboratories is one of just two teams competing to develop a government system to help track the movement of natural diseases and biological terrorism. If successful, Cambridge, Mass.-based Draper will likely spin out the cloud-based tool into a for-profit company, which would have both government and private sector clients. Draper is in the second phase of a four stage process, launched by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency within the Department of Defense.
