Dr. Thomas L. Goldsworthy of Integrated Laboratory Systems Receives Top 50 Entrepreneur Catalyst Award

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – March 31, 2011 –ILS announced today that Dr. Thomas L. Goldsworthy received the prestigious honor of a top 50 entrepreneur in the Research Triangle Park region. This recognition is representative of the leadership and excellence Goldsworthy displays in the daily realization of business goals and initiatives. The award also serves as an acknowledgement of Goldsworthy’s presence as an important member of the community at large. Business Leader magazine, a Triangle-based publication, sponsored the award on March 3, 2011.

Tom Goldsworthy is the President and CEO for Integrated Laboratory Systems, Inc. (ILS) and a member of the Board of Trustees. Prior to his current position, he served as the Chief Operating Officer, Senior Vice President, and the Director of the Health Sciences Division at ILS. As President and CEO, Goldsworthy works closely with the Chairman of the Board to provide the executive leadership for making ILS a successful company and a cherished place to work by all employees.

Goldsworthy has over 25 years of experience as an experimental pathologist and toxicologist, specializing in cancer research, mechanisms of disease, and human risk assessment. Before joining ILS, Goldsworthy served as a Staff Scientist at the Chemical Industry Institute of Toxicology (Research Triangle Park, NC), where he directed the carcinogenesis research program investigating the role of growth alterations, cell cycle regulation, gene expression, and gene mutation in the induction of cancer. He is widely recognized by his peers for his scientific vision and integrity, management experience, and motivational skills. Goldsworthy received his Ph.D. in Pathology and Oncology from the McArdle Laboratory for Cancer Research, University of Wisconsin-Madison.
