8/30/2010 11:34:25 AM

POMONA, CA--(Marketwire - August 27, 2010) -

James Lally, DO, MMM, President and Chief Medical Officer of Chino Valley Medical Center and an alumnus of Western University of Health Sciences' College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP), has been named president of the American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF). Dr. Lally will lead the organization until Dec. 31, 2011.

"It is an honor to be elected to this position by my peers," said Dr. Lally, who earned his osteopathic medical degree from COMP in 1991. "I have always believed that you must take care of those following in your footsteps. The AOF has been giving back to the profession for just over 60 years; under my leadership, we plan to gain financial strength, setting the direction for the next 60 years."

Lally has served as president of the medical center in Chino, Calif. since 2000. He is also a partner in Inland Physicians' Service.

At the state and national levels, Dr. Lally has served as a delegate for the AOA Board of Trustees since 2001, was president of the Osteopathic Medical Board of California, president of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California, and has served in leadership roles on countless committees, bureaus and boards for various professional organizations.

In his spare time, Dr. Lally serves as president of Chino Youth Boxing, chairman of the International Shooting Sports Federation Medical Committee, is involved with the International Olympic Committee Medical Committee, and has served as the team physician for the United States Olympic Shooting Team since 1993.

Since 1949, the American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) has enriched the osteopathic profession by supporting practicing osteopathic physicians, students, and programs that make a difference in communities around the world. The true impact of the AOF's purpose can only be measured by the legacy of the osteopathic physicians it has impacted and the patients they been privileged to serve, according to the AOF website, www.aof-foundation.org.
