Dr. Bruce Given Notifies ICON-PLC That he Will not Seek a Further Term as Chairman of the Board

DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ICON plc. (NASDAQ:ICLR) (ISIN:IE0005711209), a global provider of outsourced development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries, today announced that Dr. Bruce Given, non-executive chairman of the board, has notified the company that it is his intention not to seek a second term as chairman when his current term expires on December 31st 2012. Dr. Given has served as ICON’s chairman since 1st January 2010 and has been a member of the company’s board of directors since 2004. Dr. Given commented, “The time commitment for the chairman’s role was increasingly challenging given my operational responsibilities outside of ICON.
