Diagnostic Imaging Covers Breast Tomosynthesis in New Video

1/15/2013 10:25:34 AM

NORWALK, Conn., Jan. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM Medica US announces that Diagnostic Imaging, a leading online publication for news and commentary of the medical imaging market, covered the adoption of breast tomosynthesis at Washington Radiology Associates in a new video published this month.

In this video, Diagnostic Imaging interviewed the practice administrator Patrick Waring and radiologist Mark Klein, MD, to discuss their experience with the new breast imaging technology, including:

  • The decision and process for implementing the technology
  • What the radiologists think of reading breast tomosynthesis scans
  • The current lack of reimbursement for the test
  • Patients' reactions to tomosynthesis
  • A case study of a tomosynthesis scan

Diagnostic Imaging has covered breast tomosynthesis extensively, including articles on a recent study showing that tomosynthesis significantly increases cancer detection rate, and how practices are adjusting workflow for the technology, as well as a podcast on another practice's experience with tomosynthesis.
