Diabetes Tools Release: New Collaboration Links Diabetes Ehealth And Virtual Care Operator Services In Nordic Region

Diabetes Tools and MedHelp team up ahead of Vitalis 2016 congress

Stockholm, 4 April 2016 – Diabetes Tools, Swedish medtech developer of the TriabetesClinic app-based decision support service, and MedHelp, northern Europe’s largest privately owned healthcare advisory service, today jointly announce a cooperation that offers greater access to specialist medical advice for diabetes patients across the Nordic region.

The two companies will promote each other’s services to healthcare providers in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, in addition to offering combined services. For example, treatment clinics that care for insulin-dependent children and buy Diabetes Tools’ pediatric service can offer parents of their young patients round-the-clock monitoring and support by telephone and video from MedHelp’s established medical call-center services.

“Our goal is to ensure that everyone living with diabetes gets the best possible care in the most user-friendly way,” said Diabetes Tools’ Chief Executive Officer Anders Weilandt. “Working with MedHelp means that together we can now fulfil an everyday need by giving each Triabetes-connected patient round-the-clock service from MedHelp’s diabetes specialists who use TriabetesClinic as a tool. As a result, patients will have peace of mind about their health and forward-thinking healthcare providers will see greater opportunities to improve care quality, health outcomes and economic productivity.”

“We work with hospitals, municipalities and regions to give cost-effective medical support to patients over the phone,” said CEO of MedHelp Andreas Winqvist. “It is natural to take the next step, from advice over the phone to digitalized care. Diabetes nurses are already part of our advisory teams and now following today’s agreement with Diabetes Tools, many more people can benefit from their professional expertise.”

The collaboration between Diabetes Tools and MedHelp may be expanded with additional products and territories in the future.

Both companies are attending the Vitalis 2016 congress for the Scandinavian eHealth industry in Göteborg, Sweden from 5-7 April (exhibition stands B08:31 for Diabetes Tools and B08:05 for MedHelp).
