Daylight Solutions Release: A Breakthrough In Chemical Imaging Technology Expands Pharmaceutical Analysis Capabilities While Simplifying The Workflow

A breakthrough in chemical imaging technology expands pharmaceutical analysis capabilities while simplifying the workflow

San Diego, CA March 6th, 2017: Daylight Solutions announces the release of the Spero-QT infrared microscope at Pittcon 2017 in Chicago, IL.

The Spero-QT is the second generation of high-performance infrared chemical imaging microscopes offered by Daylight Solutions, the leading provider of quantum cascade lasers (QCL) and QCL-based analytical instruments. The Spero-QT shares the wide-field, high-resolution and real-time chemical imaging capabilities of its ground-breaking predecessor but can now produce twice the data in 1/10 of the time while achieving unprecedented signal-to-noise levels.

The Spero-QT’s advanced capabilities are enabling new applications in pharmaceutical and biomedical research ranging from non-contact, video-rate tablet and powder API imaging to intra-operative label-free digital histopathology. The instrument footprint has also been reduced to 22.5 inches (57 cm), the stage travel increased to accommodate up to 3 slides and the sample compartment volume increased to accommodate a multitude of microfluidic devices and accessories. The Spero-QT requires no setup time or cryogenic cooling, enabling more time for analysis.
