DaVita Inc. Appoints Barbara J. Desoer To Board Of Directors

DENVER, Oct. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- DaVita HealthCare Partners Inc. (NYSE: DVA), the leading independent medical group in America and leading provider of kidney care services, announced today that Barbara J. Desoer has been appointed to the company's Board of Directors.

Desoer is CEO of Citibank, N.A., a wholly owned subsidiary of Citigroup Inc. that accounts for approximately 70 percent of the firm's total assets. Prior to joining Citibank in October 2013 as chief operating officer, she spent 35 years at Bank of America, a diversified global financial services company, in various roles, most recently as president, Bank of America Home Loans.

Desoer earned a master's degree in business administration from the University of California, Berkeley, and a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts. In addition to serving on the board of directors for Citibank, her professional and civic affiliations include memberships on the Advisory Council of the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, and the Business Advisory Council of the Belk College of Business Administration at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte.
