BEDFORD, Mass., Sept. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Data Intensity, the industry leader in managed and cloud services for Oracle technologies and applications, today announced a significant milestone in the company's rich history of driving implementations and upgrades to Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Release 12 (R12) for its global customers. Data Intensity is celebrating the inception of its dedicated application engineering team, established five years ago this month to address the market need for expertise in planning, managing and executing on the most complex Oracle projects. The team also recently completed one of its most challenging upgrades to date for Haemonetics Corp, a global healthcare company that provides innovative blood management solutions. This deployment was one of ten R12 projects Data Intensity has delivered successfully this year, and the most recent of the 70+ R12-focused engagements the team has completed since the technology's release in 2007.

"Our team has hundreds of years of combined Oracle experience and a remarkable track record of success, most recently with R12. That expertise, combined with Data Intensity's purpose-built infrastructure and processes, makes us uniquely suited to deliver complex upgrades quickly, efficiently and with our customers' business goals in mind," said Marc Caruso, chief technology officer at Data Intensity. "Using our cloud automation technologies, we are able to rapidly deploy systems, back up and restore systems in real time, and tune system resources as needs change. Our cloning and patching automation improves response time and work quality. All of these enablers allow us to minimize downtime and wait time, ensuring that expensive functional consults will never burn dollars needlessly waiting for provisioning or technical maintenance tasks to be completed."

For the Haemonetics upgrade, Data Intensity worked with the Haemonetics Enterprise IT team lead by Tony Gazikas, vice president and chief information officer, to not only meet, but exceed expectations for a successful upgrade one that, once completed, presented no significant control issues, caused no business interruptions and established a scalable, flexible foundation for the continued evolution of the company's ERP system.

The companies collaborated on a comprehensive plan for the migration that established strategies, standards and timing for everything from implementation and testing through execution and follow up. Since going live with R12 in the second quarter of 2014, Haemonetics started to enable new functionality that provides improved access to business-critical applications, improved security and support for mobile devices.

"The upgrade was significant with 600+ custom objects remediated, 175 people engaged in testing, 96 continuous hours to conduct the upgrade and four complete test runs of the upgrade playbook prior to go-live," said Gazikas. "Data Intensity was there every step of the way with program leadership and technical expertise, and helped us communicate effectively with our business partners around the world. They were and continue to be a valuable extension of our team."

"The Haemonetics upgrade was a 24x7 effort that hinged on strong experience, effective communication, and mutual trust and respect," said Mark Shelepov, director of application engineering at Data Intensity. "The project was successful because it was a true partnership with significant contributions from the technical and management teams on both sides. Five years ago, we built our dedicated application engineering practice specifically with projects like Haemonetics in mind complicated, demanding upgrades that require focus, commitment and expertise. We are Oracle experts, and our commitment to Oracle is surpassed by only one thing our commitment to our customers. We hold ourselves to an incredibly high standard and are focused 100% on customer success and satisfaction."
