Dallafior Named President And CEO Of New Blue Cross Blue Shield Of Michigan Long-term Care Insurance Subsidiary; Morrone Named President And CEO Of DenteMax Subsidiary

DETROIT, Aug. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan today made two personnel announcements in conjunction with its creation of a new insurance subsidiary that will offer long-term care insurance and advice on healthy lifestyles to Michigan residents. The new company is expected to begin selling long-term care policies in July 2006.

Ken Dallafior will serve as the president and CEO of the new insurance subsidiary of the Michigan Blues. He formerly served as president and CEO of DenteMax, the largest independent dental PPO network in the nation and also a Michigan Blues' subsidiary.

Previously, Dallafior was president of HBE Agency and was vice president of sales for DenteMax from 1992 to 2000. From 1982 to 1992, he played professional football for the Michigan Panthers, Detroit Lions, San Diego Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Dallafior received a bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of Minnesota. He is a founder and board member of the Courage House. In 1992, Dallafior receive the National Football League's Ed Block Courage Award. He resides in Royal Oak.

To fill the vacancy created by Dallafior's move, the Blues promoted Rick V. Morrone to serve as the new president and CEO of the Blues' subsidiary, DenteMax. Previously, he was director of national accounts marketing and sales. He was responsible for selling and servicing national accounts, including the Federal Employee Program, a position he held since 1999.

Morrone joined the Blues in 1983, where he has held various underwriting positions that served large and small businesses, trust funds, associations and chambers of commerce. He received a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and a master's in business administration from Wayne State University.

Morrone and his wife Lynda and family reside in Dearborn.
