Ms. Stanley will be presenting on Cytovance's E. coli expression platform using a toolbox approach to gene design, host construction, and screening evaluation. Partnering of DNA2.0's GeneGPS™ Codon Optimization technology with Cytovance's Keystone Expression System™ creates an IP-free and robust method for developing an integrated manufacturing process that addresses challenges unique to each molecule and circumvents pitfalls that can arise in early phase manufacturing. "Our Strategic Projects department at Cytovance are responsible for fostering open innovation across Cytovance with a mission of finding and cultivating new ideas, developing new capabilities and expanding Cytovance's service offerings," commented Darren Head, President and CEO. He added that "our business and customer values drive us to focus on the task at hand. Managing innovation projects becomes a matter of constant review and re-prioritization to achieve our external and internal goals."
Ms. Stanley has 7 years' industry experience with an array of technologies, including E. coli strain development, fermentation process development, technology transfer and scale up for microbial manufacturing, and Mammalian Cell Culture. At Cytovance April has designed and tested the Cytovance E. coli Keystone Expression System™. This work, which encompassed genetic engineering of suitable E. coli hosts, establishing screening workflows, and developing platform fermentation processes to match the selected strains. Prior to Cytovance, April was a scientist at Charlesson, LLC where she developed bioassays for screening small molecules. April also worked at Dow Biopharma (now Pfenex) in San Diego. April and earned a Master's Degree in Microbiology from the University of Illinois, where her focus was using genetic engineering and a functional genomics approach to understanding questions of Salmonella pathogenesis. She also holds a B.S. in Zoology from Texas A&M University.
