WESTFORD, Mass., May 31, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Cynosure, Inc. (NASDAQ: CYNO), a leader in laser- and light-based treatments for minimally invasive and non-invasive aesthetic applications, today announced that its stock will be added to the S&P SmallCap 600® Index as of the close of trading today.

Introduced in 1994, the S&P SmallCap 600 is fast becoming the preferred small cap index in the U.S., covering approximately 3% of the domestic equities market. The index is designed to be an efficient portfolio of companies that meet specific inclusion criteria to ensure that they are investable and financially viable. Criteria include U.S. company status, market capitalization in the range of $300 million to $1.4 billion, a public float of at least 50%, financial viability, adequate liquidity and reasonable price and sector representation.
