DUBLIN, Ireland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Covidien plc (NYSE: COV) today announced, for purposes of the Irish Takeover Rules, that the scheme of arrangement under which Medtronic acquired Covidien under a new holding company incorporated in Ireland to be named Medtronic plc has become effective.
