PRINCETON, N.J., August 7, 2013 – Covance Inc. (NYSE: CVD), a leading provider of drug development services, has been recognized by Diversity Employers (formerly Black Collegian) for a fourth consecutive year, as a Top 100 Employer in 2013.
The Top 100 are selected based on a survey of the hiring plans for major national employers that recruit on college and university campuses for entry-level talent, undergraduate or graduate-level.
“Receipt of this award acknowledges Covance’s commitment to recruitment, outreach, and strategic offerings with our university partners,” said Catherine Kapferer, Director of Diversity and University Relations for Covance. “Our university relations strategy is designed to create long term, unique and differentiating programs, events and workshops which help us build strong partnerships with institutions.”
Covance’s approach is nontraditional in other ways, as well.
“Covance’s university relations focus is on careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Our willingness to look at candidates from multiple disciplines helps us attract the best and brightest professionals to match the specialized needs of our business. In addition, working with our university partners, we provide feedback and input into the curricula to help better prepare and develop future candidates,” Kapferer added. “The partnerships are really key to our success.”
