Could Boston Scientific Be Nervous About Nevro?
On Friday Dec. 9, Nevro announced that Boston Scientific had filed a patent-infringement lawsuit alleging Nevro’s Senza system infringes certain of Boston Scientific’s patents covering technology related to stimulation leads, batteries and telemetry units.
Recall, on Nov. 28, Nevro filed a patent lawsuit against Boston Scientific (BSX), asserting that Boston Scientific infringes Nevro’s patents covering Nevro’s Senza system and HF10 therapy.
We had our patent attorney review the Boston Scientific complaint and the 10 relevant patents over the weekend and his conclusion was most of the patents are not intimidating and they should be easy to work around and/or easy to challenge as invalid.
