Cordis Corporation To Establish New Innovative Research Center In Silicon Valley

MIAMI, May 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cordis Corporation today announced plans to extend its current research and development operations by establishing a unique innovation center in the Bay Area of northern California. With an entrepreneurial culture and environment, the center will allow engineers and other researchers to strive for innovative new products quickly and efficiently within state-of-the-art facilities.

The company's newly appointed Chief Technology Officer Campbell Rogers, M.D., will be responsible for the center and direct its strategic planning.

The establishment of the company's cardiovascular devices innovative center in the Silicon Valley also provides the company with the opportunity to collaborate with talent from other Johnson & Johnson medical device companies in Northern California including Nitinol Devices and Components and LuMend, Inc., which was recently acquired by Cordis Corporation.

One of the unique aspects of the center will be its focus on customer needs and partnering with them to achieve breakthrough products and offerings.
