Dr. White said, "I am honoured to lead Invetech and I look forward to working closely with our clients and helping them win in the market. Invetech has a tremendous track record in developing new products that exceed our client's expectations in quality and time to market. With the support of our talented team I am excited about growing the business further."

Dr. White joins Invetech having led the Leica BioSystems Advanced Staining Systems business for the last four years. In this time, he was instrumental in the launch of products including the award-winning BOND-III, a fully automated sample staining system.

Prior to joining Leica BioSystems in 2008, Dr. White worked for eight years at Invetech starting as a senior consultant and progressing to the role of director of Product Innovation, where he was directly responsible for the conception, development and commercialization of several new multi-million dollar technologies. Through this experience, he developed a wide range of financial and innovation management skills that provided a solid basis for undertaking technology assessment and creating practical approaches to capturing value from R&D.

Dr. White began his career with BHP Billiton, the world's largest natural resource company, as a technical specialist and progressing to commercial manager in fields as diverse as power generation, geophysics, mineral processing and natural gas utilization/conversion. He acquired a wide range of technical and commercial skills with particular emphasis on project management, commercialization strategy development, technology valuation, negotiation of commercial agreements, and technology assessment/evaluation.

Dr. White holds a Ph.D. and honours degree in chemical engineering, both from Monash University.

For more than 30 years, Invetech has been working with innovative companies to help create breakthrough, award-winning products and custom automation systems. The company was recently recognized with the prestigious 2011 Australian Engineering Innovation Excellence Award from Engineers Australia for the development of the world's first commercial 3D bioprinter to create functional human tissue for research, drug discovery and medical applications. In 2011 Invetech received its third consecutive Medical Design Excellence Award (MDEA) for the Leica BOND-III automated sample staining system used in the diagnosis of cancer and infectious diseases, and in 2010 received the Gold MDEA for the PREVI Isola, a breakthrough medical instrument delivering a faster, more precise and cost-efficient way to process patient specimens, which was developed for bioMerieux and LBT innovations.
