Philadelphia, PA, United States., June 21, 2013 - (PressReleasePoint) -Compliance Implementation Services (CIS), a leading life sciences consulting firm, today announced Pennsylvania Bio will host its breakfast symposium, “Preparing for the Sunshine Act – How to Weather the Storm of Federal and State Regulations,” featuring industry experts from CIS and Cangene BioPharma. The event will address the key considerations and operational challenges of the Sunshine Act’s impact on the life sciences industry.

“Complying with complicated Sunshine Act requirements and the state level compliance and reporting regulations demand a massive amount of effort and resources. This symposium is designed for attendees to gain insights and best practices from compliance experts and colleagues who are in the process of implementing a transparency program. We intentionally planned the symposium in the weeks leading up to the August 1 deadline to maximize the value to clients,” said Judy Fox, Director, Transparency Compliance at CIS.

“Ensuring compliance with the Sunshine Act is a topic that is critical to our industry right now. During the breakfast symposium I'll speak about my experience implementing and adapting systems at Cangene. Attendees will have a unique opportunity to hear an insider perspective in a peer-to-peer networking environment,” said Stephanie Kupski, Manager, Commercial Compliance at Cangene BioPharma.

Program topics include:

Key Data Requirements and Operational Challenges - Identify gaps and remediate concerns for successful implementation

Ensure Compliance, Minimize Impact - Align your compliance program to the state mandates and ensure the reporting requirements are met with consideration to the exposure on your program

The Road to Compliance: A Manufacturer’s Perspective - A manufacturer's perspective on compliance requirements including a timeline on when to engage experts and resources

Panelist Roundtable and Audience Q&A - Discuss the challenges and lessons learned in complying with regulations

The symposium will be held on June 27, 2013 from 8:00-11:30am at BioClinica (800 Adams Avenue, Third Floor, Audubon, PA 19403). The cost is $20 for Pennsylvania Bio, BioNJ, and Delaware Bio members; $30 for non-members. Registration is now open.
