Children's Medical Group Offers Lexicor Medical Technologies, Inc.'s NeuroLex(SM) ADHD Assessment Service

AUGUSTA, Ga., March 6 /PRNewswire/ -- A new service used to aid medical professionals in their assessment of ADHD is now available at CHILDREN'S MEDICAL GROUP by Tracy Middlebrooks, M.D. and Warren Umansky, Ph.D. The NeuroLex Indicator Report Service(SM) quantitatively and objectively analyzes electroencephalogram (qEEG) data and empowers the judgment of the physician while providing comfort and assurance of objectivity for the patient. The procedure takes approximately 45 minutes. The data is then transmitted and analyzed and an indicator report is provided to the physician.

ADHD is a disorder of the brain associated with lack of impulse control, inattention and other behavior problems. It affects an estimated 7 to 10 percent of all school-age children, and an estimated 4 percent of all adults.

"Lexicor believes the NeuroLex Indicator Report Service(SM) will change the way health care professionals evaluate patients for ADHD, and in the future, other mental health conditions," said Roger Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer at Lexicor. "NeuroLex(SM) is a convergence of technologies and clinical research that increases the power of a health care professional's judgment and offers the assurance of objective data in assessment of ADHD. Children's Medical Group is providing a great service to the residents and physicians in the Augusta area and surrounding communities by offering this cutting-edge assessment technology."

NeuroLex(SM) is not a substitute for, but rather complements, the patient's history and medical examination. Neurolex(SM) is a reporting service based on medical information technology for objective, reliable analysis of EEG data to support the assessment of patients presenting with attention problems. In addition, the service is covered by many insurance providers.
