Dr. Treado's presentation is entitled "Detection of Colorectal Cancer in Blood Serum Using Raman Molecular Imaging" and will be given on the morning of Monday, February 9, 2015 as part of the Advanced Biomedical and Clinical Diagnostic and Surgical Guidance Systems XIII program at BiOS.  The talk will detail the results of a study performed by scientists at ChemImage, in collaboration with gastroenterology clinicians, on the development of in vitro diagnostic (IVD) Raman assays focused on colorectal cancer detection.

"We are pleased to have the opportunity to share our findings with the biomedical spectroscopy community at Photonics West," said Patrick J. Treado, Chief Technology Officer at ChemImage. "Our research shows that Raman molecular imaging is a candidate method for rapid and high throughput evaluation of human tissue, cells and human bodily fluids, including blood serum, for disease diagnosis."

BiOS is the world's largest biophotonics and biomedical optics conference featuring over 2,700 presentations on clinical, translational, and fundamental research and development in the field of biomedical optics. More than 5,000 attendees are expected this year.
