Chemical Company Avantor Performance Materials, Inc. to Cut 150 Jobs
Lehigh Valley-based chemical company Avantor Performance Materials plans to close a European plant and scale back operations at a U.S. facility, a move that could affect operations at its manufacturing plant in Phillipsburg.
Avantor will close its manufacturing and research facilities in Deventer, the Netherlands, and will reduce manufacturing operations in Paris, Ky., according to company spokeswoman Allison Hosak. The company said about 150 jobs will be lost in Kentucky during a two-year transition to focus on manufacturing for its electronics materials business.
