(19 November 2013, Stoke-on-Trent, UK) - Ceram, the materials technology company, is pleased to announce that it has strengthened its polymer capabilities with the addition of Dr Xi Peng to its team.

As a technical consultant, Xi will be helping manufacturers, particularly those in the medical devices and pharmaceutical industries, to manage polymers throughout all stages of the product lifecycle, whether in innovative product development or the solving of materials and product failures.

Xi has a BEng degree in Polymer Materials Engineering and a PhD in Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry and is a Member of Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC).

In addition to polymer onsultancy, Ceram provides comprehensive testing through its extensive range of analytical capabilities, such as Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS), Time-of-Flight Ion Mass Spectrometry (ToFSIMS), X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS).

Dr. Richard White, Head of Testing, says:

“Xi strengthens our team by adding further expertise on polymers. He will be working with clients to help them optimise their products and processes and to solve failures quickly and to prevent them from re-occurring.”
