Cell Science Systems Corp. CEO Roger Deutsch Lectured in Abu Dhabi at Salus Referral Laboratory CME Event

6/1/2010 10:09:07 AM

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Roger Deutsch, President and CEO of Cell Science Systems and author of the book Your Hidden Food Allergies Are Making You Fat, was a featured speaker in Abu Dhabi at the Salus Referral Laboratory Continuing Medical Education event on Monday, May 31, 2010. The topic of his speech was Food, Inflammation and the Aging Process and focused on the importance of "healing the gut" to relieve the countless symptoms of "aging".

Abdulkareem Al Momen, MD, FRCPC, Professor of Medicine, Hematology & Oncology at King Saud University, KSA, was the other featured speaker at Salus Referral Laboratory. Dr. Al Momen's lecture focused on Food Adverse Reactions: Allergies, Intolerance and Toxicity.

"Speaking with Dr. Al Momen [was] a great honor. Together our lectures [gave] a very well-rounded description of allergy, intolerance and the problems our societies face with them," said Deutsch.

Salus Referral Laboratory was established in February 2009 by Al Zahrawi Holding, one of the most valued companies to medical, analytical, pharmaceutical and veterinary customers through professional sales and trustful services in the GCC. They are equipped with state-of-the-art fully automated analyzers therefore offering clients over 400 tests and test combinations, ranging from routine screening tests to highly esoteric molecular and genetic assays. Salus is internationally accredited and offers two CME conferences each year.

The Middle East is facing many of the chronic inflammatory diseases that the Westernized World is experiencing. A 2009 study published in the Middle East Journal of Family Medicine showed the ALCAT Test to be effective in identifying trigger foods that are associated with weight gain and/or the inability to lose weight.

In the course of the 12 week study the 27 refractory weight loss patients underwent a single treatment: avoidance of foods that were shown to be immune reactive according to blood testing through a system known as the ALCAT test. The study participants showed an average weight loss of approximately 37 pounds plus an average drop of six points of BMI (body mass index) and an average decrease of 30% of body fat.

Cell Science Systems has appointed Al-Zahrawi Group, which also owns Salus Referral Laboratory, as their distributors for the ALCAT Test in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar and Iraq.

"We are pleased to have Al-Zahrawi Group as our distributors. They are technologically innovative, high quality and we can depend on them to support our ALCAT Test customers in the region," stated Deutsch.

Cell Science Systems (CSS), located in Deerfield Beach, Florida, is a life sciences company and the worldwide market leader in food sensitivity testing as the manufacturer of the ALCAT Test. ALCAT identifies cellular reactions to over 350 foods, chemicals and herbs. These inflammatory reactions are linked to chronic health problems like obesity and diabetes, as well as skin, heart, joint, and digestive disorders.
