Cell Genesys, Inc. Announces First Quarter 2009 Financial Results

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cell Genesys, Inc. (NASDAQ:CEGE) today reported financial results for the first quarter 2009. The company reported a net loss of $8.7 million ($0.10 per fully diluted share), for the first quarter of 2009, compared to a net loss of $22.6 million ($0.29 per fully diluted share) for the corresponding period in 2008. The reduction in net loss was primarily the result of the Company’s reduced level of operations following the implementation of its previously announced restructuring plan.
