CCS Medical to Eliminate 104 Lawrenceville Jobs

6/7/2012 8:06:44 AM

Atlanta Business Chronicle by Jacques Couret, Senior Online Editor

CCS Medical Inc. will cut 104 jobs in Lawrenceville, Ga., according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification notice filed with the Georgia Department of Labor on Tuesday.

The company, which makes and distributes through mail order medical supplies such as insulin pumps and diabetes test strips, is moving its corporate headquarters from Clearwater, Fla., to Dallas and consolidating after its emergence from bankrtucpty last year, company spokesperson Jonathan Napier said.

The Lawrenceville location handled primarily urological, ostomy and incontinence products. Jobs there will be phased out in coming months, Napier said. And some of the jobs will be moved to facilities in Dallas and Clearwater.

According to Atlanta Business Chronicle sister publication Tampa Bay Business Journal, as part of its corporate headquarters move to the Dallas suburbs, CCS Medical also is laying off 101 Tampa workers.

CCS promised Texas as many as 230 jobs during the next two years to try and nail down a tax and training incentive from the Lone Star State, the Journal reported.
