Carl Zeiss Automated Digital Microscope Showcased At MD&M East 2014

Thornwood, N.Y.: Carl Zeiss Microscopy announces that it will be demonstrating its ZEISS Smartzoom 5 digital microscope at MD&M East 2014, June 10th-12th at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, New York, NY. ZEISS employees will be on hand at booth #849 to demonstrate the automated, digital microscope, ideal for quality control and quality assurance applications with features aimed at delivering repeatable results, excellent images and easy documentation.

ZEISS Smartzoom 5 incorporates highly intelligent quality assurance and quality control analysis (QA/QC) technologies. This microscope features a number of integrated components and the optical engine combines three functions: zoom, overview camera and coaxial illumination in a single component.

ZEISS Smartzoom 5 features a macro recording mode to enhance the workflow for repeat sample analyses of the same type in a step-by-step manner. The integrated QA/QC graphic user interface combines with gesture control to support a seamless macro-to-detail workflow and the image enhancement functions allow for the user to get the best image quality possible.

The system's guided workflow in combination with calibrated components supports user-independent measurement results and is able to export reports of routine measurements, as well as failure analysis, easily to word templates.
