Long Island Press -- According to George Bernard Shaw, “Youth is wasted on the young.” That may be true, but some observers have put a new twist on this statement and are now saying that “The job market is wasted on the young.” That’s because one-third (32 percent) of unemployed people are age 45 and older according to the U.S. Department of Labor, which calculates the unemployment rate as 7.6 percent for those in the 45-to-54 age bracket.
