SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - June 18, 2009) -
Cardiac Network, Inc. (PINKSHEETS:
CNWI),
a leader in
advanced mobile
medical monitoring, announced today that it has formed a joint venture
with Med Mobile, which will allow Cardiac to begin offering Personal
Emergency Response Systems (PERS) to its patients and HeartOne Club members
at
www.heartoneclub.com. PERS devices contain a distress button and
integrated active GPS system that can activate a "panic" alert to Cardiac's
24/7 monitoring station, provide accurate location tracking and get
immediate live assistance when and where it is needed. At the touch of a
button, patients can talk directly with the Cardiac Network monitoring
station. In turn, Cardiac Network's medical technicians can communicate
directly with a patient's doctor or emergency response team.
Features of its new devices include:
-- Built in Cellular Speakerphone. PERS devices enable voice calls to be
made to numbers stored in speed dialing buttons (e.g. a relative or a
doctor) or to be received from any caller or from the remote monitoring
center.
-- GPS Location and Tracking. The PERS monitor enables accurate location
of users in need. If the geofencing feature is used, in the event that the
person wearing the device wanders outside a specified zone (e.g.
neighborhood or school area), the system can alert the monitoring center
and/or a relative or caregiver.
"Our patients want to take control of their health and well being," stated
Michael Swartzburg, Cardiac Network's President and CEO. "With Med Mobile,
we can use advanced wireless technologies to bring peace of mind and
deliver real-time medical monitoring, communication and response in the
event of an emergency, virtually anywhere, anytime."
Med Mobile is a virtual network operator with world wide network roaming
agreements. Cardiac and Med Mobile joint venture will use its wireless
network to offer innovative wireless monitoring solutions for improving
people's health, safety and quality of life. PERS devices are especially
useful for elderly, chronically ill, children (including autistic and
developmentally disabled) or lone workers, as well as their relatives and
caregivers.
