Caliber Imaging & Diagnostics Release: Non-Invasive Biopsy- VivaScope® to be Highlighted at ODAC

1/10/2013 7:13:02 AM

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Jan. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Caliber Imaging & Diagnostics, Inc.'s (formerly Lucid, Inc. - OTCBB: LCDX) VivaScope® system will be featured at the Orlando Dermatology Aesthetic & Clinical Conference (ODAC) to be held in Orlando, Florida, January 18-21, 2013. ODAC hosts opinion leaders from across the globe.

Dr. Babar Rao, Dermatologist/Dermatopathologist, will be holding a workshop on Confocal Microscopy featuring a live demonstration of the VivaScope® 3000, Caliber Imaging & Diagnostics, Inc.'s (Caliber I.D.) recently introduced portable handheld confocal microscope.

"Confocal Microscopy is a breakthrough technology that allows us to view live cellular skin images without the need to remove the suspicious lesion from the skin, thus allowing us to rule out benign diagnoses and avoid pain and scarring for the patient. This technology has revolutionized my own practice, and I am enthusiastic about sharing the benefits and educating my colleagues in the dermatology community," stated Dr. Rao.

Dr. Rao is one of the first dermatologists in the United States to use the VivaScope® in his clinical practice and for several years has used this device to diagnosis skin disease. While imaging a patient's lesion, Dr. Rao can read the image and make a diagnosis in real time, thus eliminating the delays and laboratory processing costs associated with traditional histology. Using VivaNet®, Caliber I.D.'s telelpathology software, Dr. Rao has the ability to read images from remote locations throughout the world to make a diagnosis.
