BUELACH, Switzerland, July 18, 2013 – BIOTRONIK launches its next generation of guide wires. Galeo Pro stands out for its properties based on the high tensile stainless steel core: increased durability and excellent shape retention. These allow the physician to treat multiple lesions with one wire, thus increasing safety and saving procedure time. This new generation of the classic Galeo guide wire inherits outstanding torque and trackability from previous models.
"Successful percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) starts with a good guide wire that you can rely on. A guide wire is certainly one of the most important tools for the physician and in many cases determines the success of the procedure”, explains Dr. hab. med. Krzysztof Reczuch from the 4thMilitaryClinicalHospital inWroclaw,Poland. “Galeo Pro provides excellent characteristics for both simple and challenging procedures. It delivers outstanding support, torque, and lubricity for easy passage through complex anatomies, as well as enabling the smooth delivery of devices.”
Since the launch of its first guide wire back in 1997, BIOTRONIK has become a major provider of guide wires for both coronary and peripheral interventions, offering one of the most comprehensive ranges on the market. “With Galeo Pro, we demonstrate once again our commitment to delivering a complete range of innovative, high quality solutions for the interventional cardiologist”, explains Dr. Alexander Uhl, BIOTRONIK Vice President Marketing, Vascular Intervention.
Galeo Pro will be available with varying tip flexibility, shape, length and support, making it a true workhorse guide wire, suitable for the most simple to the most challenging clinical cases.
