Biotech Startup Igantia Therapeutics Joins The Race To Crack The Aging Code While Promoting Women's Health

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - April 08, 2015) - Igantia, a new research and biotechnology company concentrating on human longevity, was announced today in San Francisco, California.

The company is the first to tackle the challenge of extending human life by specifically monitoring the dynamics of female biological clock. As women age, biologically well-defined events occur during her lifespan that mark the aging process, including the onset of her first menstrual cycle and her eventual transition into menopause. The founder, Dr. Sohila Zadran, hopes that better understanding these moments can provide clues into the human aging process.

With the first round of investment to initiate in the coming month, Igantia will launch a digital health initiative to digitally track and understand lifespan dynamics in women, in real time, but will also push a series of biotechnologies through clinical trials for aging associated ailments in women.

"The biology of women provides a monumental amount of knowledge when tackling the great scientific challenge of aging," said founder Dr. Zadran. "By better understanding the science behind the female aging process, specifically the initiation of puberty and the transition into menopause in women, we might unveil possible aging targets. I have devoted my career to bettering women's health and I am truly excited to uncover the true power of the female biology."
